THE CAT PHOTOGRAPHER
For over 30 years I’ve been photographing cats—on their terms—preferably in natural settings. Capturing their gracefulness, beauty, and independence is my aim with each composition. I converted to digital in 2005, and transferred all my earlier work from transparencies using an Imacon scanner.

THE GREETING CARD LINE
For years I had wanted to create a card line around my cat photography, and eventually realized that the “right time” would never come. I took time off from my consulting job to research the market, develop the concept, surmount a seemingly endless number of challenging learning curves, then create the designs. The business was launched in October of 2006.

THE DESIGNS
Each of the designs reflects a love and passion for cats. Combining my passion for words and poetry with photography seemed the best approach to produce a synergy that would go beyond what each element could achieve separately. My aim is to create designs with a consistent style—striking a balance between emotion and intellect, whimsy and sophistication, reality and fantasy.
Cats have something to say to all of us, even to those who aren’t “cat people.” The cards were created to let others discover this and to help them find the words and images to express their thoughts.

THE CATS
Cats are my constant companions. Many of the cats featured in the card designs have lived with me. Sadly, they don’t live long enough and a few are now gone. Some of my cats have traveled with me throughout the U.S. and Canada. Their travels offer varied scenes in which to photograph them.
